Restless Raven’s Homestead’s Herbal CSA 2023: Fall
The abundance of the year is upon us as we reap all that we have sown. We are excited to offer you our third box of the season: fall. Everything in this box has been grown and made here on our homestead. The content in these boxes is solely ruled by nature and the seasons. The items you will find inside are best harvested or only available in the fall season. These medicines are crafted to support you during this seasonal shift of fall. Large Basic Fall Box Includes:
Nourishing Nervine Tea Blend
A loose leaf tea blend crafted from homegrown herbs of Milky Oats, Oats Straw, Lemon Balm, Skullcap,Tulsi Basil & St. John’s Wort. Drink this tea to induce a calming mood and to replenish the nervous system during times of stress, nervousness, anxiety & depression.
Cautions: This tea should not be drank during pregnancy and caution should be used when working with St.Johns wort due to its ability to render contraceptives useless. St.Johns Wort should not be used alongside mood drugs or SSRIS because they can cause them to not work or to have the opposite affect.
Seeds
Your box contains various types of flower, herb or vegetable seeds that we have grown and cultivated here on our homestead. Some of the plants have practical uses like medicinal or edible but some have more ornamental type uses like attracting pollinators. We encourage you to research your seeds and learn about all the lovely benefits they carry. We also encourage you to plant, care for and harvest them all while building a relationship together. Get to know them in all their forms: seed, sprout, plant, root and decay and incorporate them into your daily lives and rituals.
Seed Garlic
Garlic seed saved from our own homegrown garlic. Separate the cloves from the bulb and do not remove the papery coating that protects the individual cloves. Plant in your garden this Fall before the ground freezes. Plant 2 inches deep and 6 inches apart. Cover with a mulch after planting. Straw, leaves or even grass clippings will work. Harvest the scapes in summer when they curl into a full circle. Harvest the garlic in the late summer when half of the leaves/foliage has died back.
Purslane + Borage Soap
This soap features a freshly juiced, antioxidant rich purslane and borage infused mangalitsa lard. Purslane helps to heal wounds and moisturize the skin. Borage is a great anti-inflammatory for conditions like eczema, acne, dermatitis etc.
Contains: borage infused mangalitsa lard, coconut oil, purslane juice, sunflower oil, borage flower, calendula petals, blue cornflower petals.
Natural Roll-on Deodorant
This roll on natural deodorant looks, smells & feels just like the big name, store bought brands. It is free of endocrine disrupters: aluminum and parabens. While also being made from simple ingredients. Ingredients to help naturally fight odour causing bacteria and promote a healthy lymphatic function. Roll onto the armpit area massaging the lymph nodes. The deodorant stick will glide easier as it warms up to your body. Has a fresh, orange pekoe like scent.
If you are used to using antiperspirants or other brand name deodorants your armpits may go through a smelly, sweaty, detox phase when switching to something different. Please allow your body to adjust to this transition.

Fire cider is an old folk remedy and a homemade fiery vinegar tonic. Made from lemon, orange, garlic, onion, horseradish, jalapeño, rosemary, ginger, thyme, oregano, garden sage, marjoram, cayenne & turmeric infused into apple cider vinegar then sweetened with local honey. Majority of ingredients are grown and harvested here on our homestead. Brewed in small seasonal batches to ensure the best of quality.
Great to take a swig at the onset of cold and flu symptoms or even a hang over. It will help give your immune system a boost and also aid in digestion. Great tonic for the cardiovascular, immune and digestive systems within the body. Can be used as a salad dressing, marinade, added to dishes when cooking or just simply take a shot.

Potent, small batch bottle of st johns wort oil. Aerial parts of st johns wort harvested at peak potency extracted in olive oil for many moons. Its potency is visible by its deep red hue. A powerful anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-viral, anti-mircorbial, wound healing herb that is specifically useful at healing burning conditions like nerve pain, shingles, sciatica, burns, sunburns, hsv and bruising when applied topically to the area.

The marshmallow root and calendula is very soothing to mucous membranes like the ones in your throat and digestive tract. While the chicory root works to promote healthy gut bacteria and anise hyssop reduces bacteria and viral load of illnesses. A loose leaf autumnal tea blend crafted from wild tended and homegrown herbs of anise hyssop, chicory root, marshmallow root and calendula petals. This liquorice flavoured tea is great to soothe the digestive system, sore throats, coughs & colds. The marshmallow root and calendula is very soothing to mucous membranes like the ones in your throat and digestive tract. Purslane + Borage Soap
This soap features a freshly juiced, antioxidant rich purslane and borage infused mangalitsa lard. Purslane helps to heal wounds and moisturize the skin. Borage is a great anti-inflammatory for conditions like eczema, acne, dermatitis etc.

Seeds
Your box contains various types of flower, herb or vegetable seeds that we have grown and cultivated here on our homestead. Some of the plants have practical uses like medicinal or edible but some have more ornamental type uses like attracting pollinators. We encourage you to research your seeds and learn about all the lovely benefits they carry. We also encourage you to plant, care for and harvest them all while building a relationship together. Get to know them in all their forms: seed, sprout, plant, root and decay and incorporate them into your daily lives and rituals.
Seed Garlic
Garlic seed saved from our own homegrown garlic. Separate the cloves from the bulb and do not remove the papery coating that protects the individual cloves. Plant in your garden this Fall before the ground freezes. Plant 2 inches deep and 6 inches apart. Cover with a mulch after planting. Straw, leaves or even grass clippings will work. Harvest the scapes in summer when they curl into a full circle. Harvest the garlic in the late summer when half of the leaves/foliage has died back.
